Scissors cutting a know of rope for the poem Cut the Ties.

Cut The Ties

They do not lie to shield your heart,
The truth would tear their plans apart.
The lies are told to keep control,
To shape your choices, guard their goal.

The truth, if told, would change your view,
It would reveal what they aim to undo.
They fear the choices you might find,
That could break the hold they have on your mind.

Each word they twist is meant to bind,
To cloud your thoughts and shape your mind.
But now you see their web of lies,
It is time to cut the ties.
