Fort Gratiot Light, Michigan, decorated for the holiday season.

Beacon Of Warmth

Beacon Of Warmth

Oh, here I stand, decked out in lights, ribbons, and bows,
Dressed for the season, gleaming from head to toe,
I’ve got a job, sure, guiding ships through the snow,
But right now, I’ve got something more to show,
A glow to offer warmth, in the cold winds that blow.

My light isn’t just for sailors searching the shore,
Tonight it shines brighter, for those seeking something more,
I watch from my tower, as joy gathers near,
Families laughing, voices ringing clear,
And my beacon, with every turn, brings them cheer.

Through windows I peek, at the scenes down below,
Children running, their faces all aglow,
The firelight flickers, as the warmth spreads around,
And I smile, knowing my light helps them feel sound,
In the quiet of winter, joy can always be found.

When the wind picks up, and the storm starts to rage,
I stand even taller, as the night turns the page,
I cut through the dark, my beam strong and bright,
Keeping them steady, through the long winter’s night,
A reminder that peace can still shine through the fight.

So here I am, dressed up, proud, and beaming wide,
A lighthouse in more than just name, I’m a guide,
Not just for ships, but for hearts in need of light,
As the season rolls in, I make the world feel right,
I’m the beacon of warmth, in this frosty holiday night.
